planning on doing a few bits to a c16xe before it goes in made a list of things i want doing, can anyone recomened anything else thats worth doing?

change stem seals,
relap valves or fit bigger valves
change the lifters
head pressure tested, skimmed and maybe new valve guides( bronze ones poss)
APR rod bolts
metal idler pulleys

another thing thats bee recomended is to
'get a 3-6 angled cut on the valve seats' but i have no idea what they means anyone shead any light?

basically they cut the edge of the valve at either 3 or 6 different angles this means i belive it gets a much better seat and seals better might even improve air flow round the valve, some one correct me if i am wrong

dont bother getting an uprated head gasket, unless u intend to raise compression. SBD motorsport build 180bhp 1.6 16v and keep the standard gasket.

would reccomend fitting a solid (non adjustable) tensioner though. u can then adjust cam belt tension on the swing of the water pump. much more reliable at high revs than the crappy auto tensioner design vauxall fitted.

head pressure test is a poor science and i wouldnt waste your time.
bronze guides arent great on a road car as i believe you have to run them without valve stem seals as they need more lubrication than standard.

The perfect seat for a valve is a curve but its very difficult to do which is why people go for the three angled valves. However if i were you id be looking at having head ported etc before going for bigger valves or 3 angled seats.

Oh and i got your texts but havent got as far as replying first thought id see if you were on messenger onight. Also did you sort the brakes?

Lifters only need a few weeks in petrol then they're fine.

Also if you going for lumpy cams in the future you may want to get your pistons pocketed

On the head gasket leave it standard as I was told if will blow thats itnew headgasket. But an uprated one want and temperatues will climb and fcuk up the hole bottom end

broze valve guides are pointless on that spec....

ABD idlers/ ARP rod bolts/ Get you std pistons pocketed / lighten and balance the crank....

that will be a good base for a start

Head ported, triple cut valve seats, skim the head to raise compression, uprated rod bolts, aluminium tnesioners. Pocket pistons if you think you might want to fit much wilder high lift cams at later date

with regards pistons i personally wouldnt touch bottom end at this stage no further than rod bolts at most. Your not going to want wild cams on std management. Sort the head and breathing out first!
