Exactly.
If you wait until fluids are in, then at least it's not that much hassle to refit the starter motor.
If you turned it over now, you'd be slightly annoyed if anything broke.

no oil in the engine would seriously fuck it HARD if you tried to turn it over I would of thought, oil is rather important

I used to run my 1.6 dry all the time for weight-saving.

I sometimes run without water and oil in my 1ltr when I'm doing 1/4 miles.

just as long as there is yeast and flour in that bread maker you will easily hit mid-late 13's
i put a couple of litres of oil in with a bucket under the oil filter bit, and gave it a quick blip eh voila its working, thought to myself that even with the oil in and everyting, the first start is gonna be still bad as the oil wil need time to circulate round the engine.
still, im a happy chap now,
Slight water leak form a jubilee clip i forgot to tighten right at the back of the engine but ill sort that another day.

thought you had to crank something before you started it up so oil can circlate round the engine.

y would u need 2 circulate the oil b4 starting, what happens when a car stands for a few days, surely it all goes back into the sump ??

There should be a thin film of oil still present which helps until the oil pump gets working on strike up!

It's important to have oil pressure before you start the engine, so the crank and big ends are floating. Need's cranking over till th elight goes out really.
