Ive currently got an 1.4 8v mpi engine in the corsa which is f****d

Ive been offered a 1.4 16v engine and gearbox etc... everything that i need

Is there any noticeable difference between these engines? Would i be able to do the swap myself as ive never attempted anything like this before?

and before people say it im only 17 so a bigger engine is out of the question until im a bit older

whack it in there... reason it thru, and ure sorted 16v lump is 90bhp as standard 8v is 82 bhp, u'll need the header tank loom, blah blah... and a haynes manual wouldnt go amiss

u'd do it in a day, dont really need to disturb gearbox/driveshafts etc... powerwise, it'd be higher up the range so maybe, my 8v SRi beats standard 16v's easily but its had money spent, whats wrong with the lump u got in?

no compression, its on 110000 miles anyway so would rather not spend money on it

i thought it needed new gearbox and shafts?

Yeah the mount on the chassis leg is different, but that wouldn't be a problem, use the mounts that are in the car currently, just swap the engine as said, gearbox etc... don't need to be touched.

Can be a bit difficult to pull away sharply in the valver engines, cause of lack of anythign under 3k, and a few ppl don't like slipping the clutch in.
