whats the bhp difference on the newer engines?1.4 16v W-REG and 1.6 16v W REG.ALSO DIFFERENCE IN 0-60 TIMES?

best go for the 1.6 as you can squeeze more power out of it and it has a lil more torque. i had a 1.4 16v and wish i hadn't even botherd tunning it

125mph on the speedo laddy!
As Fads said, 1.6 16v is by far the better engine all round. May only b 1 second on paper, but the X16XE engine is a good lump.
OJC's stats are also correct.

I HAVE DONE 130 MANY TIMES IN A 1.4 SPORT, WITH 4 PEOPLE IN, THE ONLY REASON THE TOP BOOK SPEED IT 112 IT BECAUSE THE SAY 6000RPM IS THE MAXIMUM CONTINUOUS REVS, SO IT WILL REV FURTHER IN 5TH BUT THEY CAN'T GUARENTEE YOUR ENGINE WON'T FUCK UP.

The speedo on your car can be up to 10% out so 125 could be 112.5

get the 1.6, as they can be tuned quite a lot more easily than the 1.4. 180bhp isnt out of the question, and im sure thats enough to have fun with in a corsa!

0-60 times are a gash way of looking at a cars performance, 0-100 and 1/4mile times are better
and for people that say they got 125 odd out of a standard 1.4 are fools to belive they were going that fast, speedo is well out

ive got a 1.4 16v, drilled air box, K&n, its alright, faster than al my mates cars! am kinda bored of it now though. its wierd, ive done 115 in my corsa (on the clocks) and i managed to get 118 out this.........
