My engine management light came on the other night there...
Its done it a few times but....
every now and again i give it a wee blast, it revs right to the limiter in 5th, when i back off after this the engine management light comes on for a bit the goes off again.
Any ideas why??
Maybe it just dont like going that fast!! 
Oh its a 1.6 16v Sport...

lambda sensor maybe?

mine does the same but only when i have my cat on!? when i decat it i never have problems

mine used to do that if i took it up to 7500rpm not every time but one in a while, the coed it always came up with was injector valve high voltage, think its just a signal sent cos the injectors are working over time at these rpm's

EGR VALVE MAYBE.get i checked mate coz if egr goes idle control valve goes too apparently

rhino, what engine mods do you have to allow you to redline in 5th??
