WONDERING IF I WILL NOTICE A DIFFERENCE, IVE HEARD PEOPLE SAY CUS THEY HAVE TWO AMPS THEY MIGHT NEED ONE IN THAT CASE I HAVE TWO SEPERATE POWER LEADS FROM BATTERY SO HOW WOULD THAT WORK..(DO I JUST FEED THE POWERFUL AMP)....

I HAVE AN UPRATED HEAVY DUTY BATTERY, I HAVENED TURNED THE AMP UP YET BUT IM ASSUMING ONE I DO I WILL START TO NOTICE DIMMING IN THE LIGHTS... IS THAT A SIGN OF POWER CAP NEEDED...

ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED

get an uprated altenator, then battery then cap if needed - that's the best order to do it in to see noticable effects.

you would be a lot better off spending your money on an upgraded altenator, cos if the power isnt htere in the first place, a cap will make almost no difference at all. I think you can even get your current ones rewound.

ive got an uprated battery and cap but just a standard alternator. Although am not questioning the fact that an uprated alternator is best i have noticed a definate gain from my cap!!

Ya sure that headunit is 50w rms n not 50w peak!!!!!!!!!!!!

A new alterneator could cost a fortune

get a power cap or when you hit them basey notes you will be havin power losses, lights dimmin and stuff

but if the powers not there in the first place, the lights will still dim.

I have an uprated front battery, an optima yellow top and a cap and still on big bass notes the lights will dim, and thats with about £350-£400 of stuff trying to sort the power out. Now i know it would have been a much better idea to spend that on a bigger alternator.

I've got a 1.2 farad cap, and to be quite honest it's pointless really without the power behind it in the first place as Richie's said...

How much would a bigger alternater be as i get a fair amount of light dimming with just one amp and one sub.

What alt are you currently running and whats your engine? Usually a better quality larger capacity battery will give you less dimming and longer running time, as well as being able to take some stick!
