i got a dished spanner in a spanner set out of argos

its really easy to do.... just take the strut out of the car completely

compress the spring then put the dished spanner on the nut and use a 10mm spanner on the middle of the strut to stop it from spinning

Really I couldnt find a dished spanner that would go in. Standard corsa nut is 18mm and my spax ones are 19mm so that could cause a problem.

Thats funny cos i removed the damper the other day. One bolt under the bonnet at the top. Then 2 bolts at the bottom, and a further bolt connected to an arm with 2 knuckles on it.

some people on here are a bit dim. the corsa c has a fixed damper-not to the car but to the strut. the bit red sxi removed is the strut. the damper is sealed in the strut and cannot be removed from the strut without cutting it. and here is the proof. the yellow bit is a koni shocker. the strut needs to be cut just below there to remove the damper. dont believe me? ring vauxhall and ask the if u can get a damper on its own not in a strut

no u removed the strut. top bolt holding two chassis,2 bolts below by hub holding onto hub assy, and last nut on the track rod end. that big thing u removed is the strut, not the damper

when people say damper they mean the whole thing.

they dont mean they remove the damper from the macpheason (sp) strut.

maybe that where confusion is. me thought they were on about the damper itself and not the strut.

and on a corsa b you can remove the damper, but i was trying to say that on the c you cant cuz its one complete assembly. to replace the damper(shocker) you have2 cut the strut like i had to do
