As for printer, epson HP are cheap, but ink is expensive hence my old man having a fit when it cost him 30 odd quid for black ink lol

And about the gprahics cards, have a look at 3D-Labs Wildcats (think there called wildcats). Expensive, but are designed for CAD work and give very good performance, compaired to gaming cards ie: ATI and Nvidia

not sure if its been said, but make sure you get an optical mouse, and will probably be better if you get cordless keyboard and cordless mouse, saves lots of messy wires. optical mouse is really a must for design work, much more precise and dont stick!

no, for cad work you really want to get yourself a trackball (ball is ontop) and a decent tablet (pen and board). But its what you are used to

As for the HP, espon thing. Well, ive had an epson for 4-5 years and its never broken down. Replaced it with a HP 990 about a year ago and i had to take the thing apart last night, because a cog's pin (holding it into a plastic flimsy arm) had fallen out It has a nice feature of double sided printing and the colours are better, but as for reliablility, the espon wins hands down - plus im sure the new epsons are the muts nuts for colour now
