Drove to B&Q just now and the engine management light came on twice

Only when on full throttle, but not every time.

Can't use paperclip as my ecu is weird....

I feel a trip to vauxhall ... but how much is that gonna cost?

Any ideas on the cause if its only on full throttle?

well thats weird...maybe thats coz ur tryin the wrong hole?

try pushin the paper clip further down it then just in case the metal contact bit broke!

but if ur right and it has broke, then if u go to vaux and try to plug it in their diagnostic machine then it may not work, and at least u know u were right and vaux shouldnt charge u.

If you dont have the pin the tech 2 wont be able to connect. If you look under it you will see if there is a wire going into the connector. You can just connect the wires.

My money is on you trying the wrong place!

Does the car go alright just have the light on? Could well be egr related if no performance change.

Right, i've been told the ecu for the 1.0 12v and 1.2 16v is a motronic 1.5.5 and is different to all the other ones. It has no L line on the diagnostic plug and only a K line.

The metal contacts are all in different places!

The light isn't on all the time but now and again.... there is definately a performance loss when it comes on, it stops accelerating!!!

had a similar problem, check that the CAT ain't cracked and blowing and check the sensor just above CAT its just cost me a small fortune to repair, 3 days work at local garage!

car was practically undriveable as the light came on and power just went lost all acceleration in the end!
