The key to getting that set up to work properly will be the having the map sorted. Maybe the Mantxel chip is not up to the job??

hrmm well maybe the chip must be stuck in one of the cylinders

i dont know much about engine electronics but i know about the mechanics of them and when they make load banging noises thats not a good thing!

i cant understand pouring cash into an engine to make it have the same power as the next model of engine up has as standard(which is prolly cheaper to buy also)

but thats just my way of thinking

Maybe just spoke to the mechanic its going in tonight, so i will keep ya updated, he has been thinking about what it might be, the only common element in the engine is the block, everything else has been changed, swapped for ones we know are good, he seems to think the block might be WARPED!!!!!!, holy shit, looks like its gonna be back to a standard block and pistons CC etc boo hoo, i so should have got a C20XE im kicking myself now

that's the reason I will keep my engine X14XE, and upgrade it to 1620 cc using a new crankshaft and pistons plus a rebore.
Even after 79K the engine is in top condition, and pulling strong till 7300 rpm, I think the main reason for this should be the synthetic oil used (and frequent changes)

Let's see if this engine stretches to 180 bhp

But in this country it's almost impossible to fit a red top in it , and buying second hand engines is almost like wining the lotery

Who did you pay £1400 to put the engine right? If it were me, I'd be paying them a visit to ask for my money back, or another engine rebuild

they are everything from now on is free, engine is getting re-built for nothing, if the problems the block it was like it when the engine was bought, its not something me or my mechanic have done, i will keep ya updated dropping car off soon, gonna have a brainstorming session with mechanic once he has heard the engine

Warped block? Very very unlikely. What part of it would warp?

If the rebore was iffy it could cause problems. A new (secondhand) block and a rebore (£50?) Would be all thats needed if the block does need replacing. I cant see that myself though.

Going to be something rebuild related. Done wrong or a faulty part (should have been checked?)

Well like you said i am thinking its an iffy rebore, done by power crazy, shortly after it was completed theNo1 piston main bearing went, i got the engine re-build thinking it was probably bad workman ship by there mechanic and once done same thing happened, it back at the meachanics now, getting stripped back down tomoz, if it is an iffy re-bore i got a spare block any way so its not too bad, Fcukin cars, i will keep ya all posted after strip down tomoz
