the standard unit has gone into safe mode, i know the normal code for it.
is this gonna mean getting ripped off by vauxhall to unlock it or will the local audio place be able to do it?

or is there an easy fix you do yourself?

All you do is enter the 4 digit code, then hold the AS button for 5 - 8 seconds

its gone beyond that, it doesnt ask for the code it just says SAFE in the display.
the book says take it to a vauxhall dealer, but i'd prefer not to

usually when you power it on, you should see "SAFE" then after a few seconds, "10 ----" should appear.

Put the h/u in a freezer for 24 hours or so, then take it out and leave it for a few days to make sure it thaws out fully. Apparently it works, about 4 or 5 people have told me that one.

the freezer thing works leave it there for 24 to 36 hours no longer then whan it comes out rap it in a towel and put it by a radiator for for 6 to 8 hours then move it and remove the towel and leave it for 2 more days it whipes all the codes so if you un plug the power after it wont ever ask for a code again
