well, its a saturday, and i know ill be quite bored, so i thought id give this a go today, does it actually give a better sound?

I mostly want to do it cos of the sound and the talk ive seen chucked about that it gives free'er revs and a bit more response.

there must be tons of different techniques and ways and postions and shapes you should cut into the box, so i thought id ask, which one is the best for overall sound and rev freeing?

Okay, I did mine last saturday like this:

Heres a link to the tutorial:
>>> CorsaSport DIY Drill your Airbox Tutorial <<<

Results = Throatier Sound, Smoother 3-4k Revs.

I'd also recommend getting a Air Hose (Halfords £20ish) running from the bottom grill (Not V grill) to the Airbox, for denser Air Intake.

Have a Go at removing your Side Rub Strips Too. Did mine last weekend, looks soooo much nicer!

i did that weeks ago mate, fully debadged and trimmed, im gonna take some pics today cos i just finished colour coding all the extremeties, (wing mirrors, delcoked vectra handles, bootlock surround)

what about the front of the box? and did you reset your ECU?

i should imagine on yours there was a would be a better sound though, those little 1.0 12v sound like mini porsches as standard lol

also i just read in noonsters panel filter topic, that gambit posted you should cut a box in the front, did you do this?

yea, what did you do about that airflow meter thing with the red tube coming off it?

it wasnt too hard to colour code, just took a bit of time, sanding the stuff smooth, priming, sanding the primer, spraying the colour then 2 or 3 coats of laquer.
extremely frustrating if the can spits or some dust or something lands on the part whil spraying, especially in the final coats!

ah, mines different to that, on the side with the little clips, there is a thing with an arm coming off it attached to a flap, it controls the mixture of hot and cold air as mine has a hot air feed coming off the manifold heat shield too.

did you replace the original panel filter?

man, i drilled it out last night and put it in my car, first time i didnt drill many holes and it had literally no effect, so i got it back out and looked at that FAQ and drilled a fair few more, ( there were more on the FAQ than i thought would be needed) and it borks now!

at idle it sounds the same, but as soon as i give it some floor it sounds like a GTi or something,

excellenté

I Fitted some halfords cold air feed silver pipe (£3.50) from my lower grill into my airbox front hole, found it alot smoother and responsive. piss easy to fit with a couple of cable ties!

instead of frilling many holes make a big one and fit a cold air duct. this will be better. this will force cold air into the box.

that bloody green cotton ducting was a pile of sh*te, i stretched it out like your meant to, and the bloody thing just spiralled out into a long strip of foil, im gonna get a pipercorss next time.
you know what, why dont i just buy an induction kit, although mines a bit of a twat to get one for and ive never seen one, but i was looking in a catalogue and you can get a pipercross for "Any Corsa B", this must include mine then.

as vibrio said, why drill the airbox then shove a cold air feed into the small inlet for the original pipe? chop a massive hole out of the front of the airbox, then shove a cold air feed into that...
