 | its only a panel filter your buyin

any cotton or foam based panel filter will do - the cheaper the better

 | the only difference is that if you neglect foam filters then they start fallin apart & bits get sucked into the intake

the best money can buy will be the PVD one

 | Most people I have spoke to said I do need to reset it, but wanted to ask the resident experts

neiliosxi - What made you get the PVD Cone instead of just drilling the air box and getting a filter??

ALSO - Wheres that post gone that compares the perfomace of them all??

 | you may aswell reset it, if u dont it will reset over time i think, but doing it manually will be quicker if you dont need the car for an hour or so

 | its pretty simple to compare

std airbox = cold air, no noise
cone = warm air, noise, slight drop in driveability due to warm air
cone with cold air = noise, plus slight increase in accel due to increased airflow & cold air & better driveability
drilled airbox = same idea as above but cheaper

the performance increase is negligible but it will feel faster due it being more free revving with the increased airflow

also, a cone is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye

 comprendé?

 | foam allows more air thru than cotton, but cotton has a better filtration rate than foam

6 of one, half a dozen of the other really

 | SO if I have drilled the airbox I mayas well just get the panel filter and forget about the BFO Cone as it will be just about as good yeah??

 | yep

also if you do the box properly you can get a better noise because the noise will reverberate in the box

basically instead of drilling you want to cut a big square out of the front

you also get cold air coming in round the light housing
