Just been looking in Broster's Garage and saw this pic...

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/652/lexmaul_inlet_004.jpg

...What is that!?
I've never seen one before (dont want to sound ignorant)
I basically know it rams the air in so its more dense... but didnt know you could get them like that ive only seen little Sh***y ones that go infront of the air filter.
WHERE CAN I GET ONE FROM?

Nice Filter Broster... thinking of getting that one too
Either that one or the BMC Carbon one.

Any ideas on which ones best?

Cheers

ok, i got the viper induction kit an lexmaul inlet, the inlet made a huge difference, its on a 1.4 16v, keeps up with the early gsi's now now probs. the inlet is well worth the money and if ur gunna mod ur engine get one of these first, u can get them from many different companies, the lexmaul bin the easiest to fit as u dont need to move ur throttle body, and gives more useable power, velos an manzel do one that gives more power at the top of the rev range and a chip is advisable to get most out of it, these two are similer designs to one another but the velos bin cheaper, manzel looks better, dblis(sp) also do one, not sure about this one tho, look on regals web site. the viper is best filter iv had, iv tried normal piperx, drilled air box with k&n filter an cold air feeds but none seem to perform like the viper, made nice difference. dont no bout any other viper like filters! its not the loudest because its all inclosed but performs the best!

£429!
Ouch!
Less than £300 for a more powerfull one from velos. (Ive seen +21bhp on a 1.6)
Looks poo but for a saving of over £130 you could probably get it gold plated!!!!!!!
Choice is yours though.

If the velos has less power at any part of the rev range than a velos torque tube then il never reply to an inlet manifold topic again!
Ive seen the graph of the lexmaul in PVD's catalogue and of a velos torque tube and the only difference seems to be that the lexmaul power tapers off, pretty much the same bhp and torque up to 5500rpm.
I had a look on PVD's website and its priced at £389 so dont know where £429 came from.
I cant understand the price rise to be honest as its in the same leauge as the more powefull mantzel and dbilas now.

My 147bhp 1.6 corsa is for sale with a different inlet manifold and race spec ECU is for sale if anyone is interested, £5000.

Best bhp per pound is just a torque tube, drilled air box and de-cat.
If youve got more money then you could add a chip or a few other things.
If uve got £2000 just get throttle bodies.
I had £1100 so went for the plenum and unichip, then upgraded to race engine management to get a reliable high rev limit.
Id say power would go +20% so from 90 to 118bhp (more power than a 1.6 but less torque so dont expect to beat 1.6's).
With a de-cat and airbox too you should have enough bhp and torque to beat a standard 1.6.

It depends on how much cash you've got and if you want to go down the engine conversion or tuning route.

As for insurance i had to change companies as my old one wouldn't cover more than 20% power increases on any car.
Just declare it at +9bhp and as inlet manifold fitted and ul be ok, if you crash it i doubt they'll be able to rolling road it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brooster, in PVD's catalogue it says the lexmaull develops more torque in the mid range, but the mantzel, velos and dbilas also develop more in the mid range.
Total vaux really need to do a rolling road session on each of the products but i doubt they ever will as they get most advertising off PVD and the owners of both are meant to be good mates so it'll just come up on corsa sport every week.

wolk the price for the lexmaul is £429 in the catalogue, so the web site must be rong or sumink! will one day get mine rr'd so will see what power it is then, mine does beat 1.6's as proved many times tho
