All that and only 160bhp?

Thats wank, gimme a Corsa 1.6 16v and let me spend the same amount as what he spent on that engine on the C/X16XE and let me blow him away for fun.

Completley different engiens react differently to different mods.

Its yours a 16v I take it? Did u not consider supercharging as I know that mods works great on teh saxo lumps, esp the 8v's.

Still, u've spent a lot of money, and its good to see people modding their engines on here as opposed to sticking 20" wheels on a 1.2 Even if it is a saxo.

Top job, whats it go like?

Only 125lb ft of torque though. Now that is depressing. Andys 220bhp 1.6 16v corsa has around 145-150lb ft torque i think!!!

be interesting to see what it gets on a WOT dyno run

sounds impressive, not goin that far with my engine although might be tempted by a SC eventually.

Has anyone seen Bic's 106 GTI??

That was only making around 160bhp but it absolutely flies.

I'd be pretty disappointed with those figures TBH. My 1.6 lump runs pretty much the same spec and produces 180bhp at the wheels and peak torque of 146lb/ft. Oh yeah, and my close ratio Quaife box goes in next week, which should spice things up a bit...

I'm not sure that lot would have been any cheaper than my engine mods though. Corsa's going down to Preston for gearbox and breather mods - you're more than welcome to come out that way and meet me for a spin when I pick it up
