So almost of standard I would like to know what kinda speed figures I should be getting, when I first get it only planning on induction and stainless system.

I know they are around 156BHP as standard but whats the 0-60 / 0-100 / 1/4 mile times / Top speed??

Cheers,
Sean.

0-60 around 7.5
so 0-100 around 12/13
1/4 mile about 15.5
and top end you're looking about 135ish

all estimates straight from the top o' me head!

never

0-60 - 7'ish (i can sit at the side of a type R)
0-100 is really the same as 1/4 mile as most 2lt corsa will do the 1/4 at around 95mph'ish so low 15's to high 14's(is cars stripedout)
top end 135'ish

some people ive spoke to say an F20 will cope with the LET engine, plus the F28 will be a bitch to fit in an 8v corsa & weighs as much more as an extra passenger compared to the F20

Sorry dude, those people are wrong. I'll go with what Kris says above. It will shred the F20 after a few thousand miles.

my mates astra turbo running 280bhp went through 3 f20 gearboxes. must just be to do with howe good the box is initially, or how hard its drove, hey beardy thought u might of had a play on the motorway coming back from pv show? i was rather dissapointed that u didnt wanna race! i thought an f20 could cope with 250bhp? but anymore and u need the f28? i stand to be corrected though!

nope m8... a f20 is a capable of handling standard LET power for a many a mile...

its only when u tune LET is the f20 gonna suffer, hence requiring F28 and uprated clutch

A f28 is essential when u push 300bhp+ amongst other suspension modifications ... also if the car does motorway mileage

Its not bhp that damages engines its torque. Fitting very wide wheels, uprated clutches etc will reduce box life.

Its probably cheaper and easier to get through a couple of f20's than to deal with the f28.

I think a fair few people use f20's on standard let's without many probs.

The '20' in F20 means that it can deal with 200lb/ft of torque, and thats roughly what the standard let produces.

Motorway miles are fine, its standing starts and hard use that will kill them.

Any an f28 doesn't weigh as much as a passenger more than a f20!

Its about 20kg more I think.... thats one small passenger!
