Right I know that putting 17's on will slow my car down both in top speed and acceleration but by how much???

In the past all the opinions have been very mixed, some say it does, some say it doesn't. Since I've never driven a car with 17s on I can't comment (anyone wanna let me have a drive of theirs at pv2003? )

This would be on a 1.2 16v Sxi (75bhp version I believe). How much slower to 60 would I become? 1 second? 2 seconds? more??

Thanks,

Paul J

big diference in a 2.0 litre with 14s it drags you allover the road but accelerates like a b...ard ,with 17s it either wheelspins or bogs down.

this is basically what I've done... I've got 15's on and lowered it. but I want to kit it and don't want it to get smashed on the first speed hump - plus big kit looks rubbish on less than 17's... Thus I have a dilema.

If you loose acceleration, due to transmission losses, how the hell are you going to be able to go faster at top speeds?

There going to slow you down, not make you quicker
