Yeah wait till you can buy an amp that will match the RMS rate of the sub. If the sub is 500RMS then save up and get a 500-600RMS amp. Will really pay off, if you underpower the sub it will
A) Sound crap
B) Damage the amp
C) Your mates will laugh at you

yes but wat im saying is ive seen few amps around 400-800 watts rms 2/4 channel for about 60-100 quid im askin wat do u recommend so if u read this i will not be under powering the sub

Just dont do it mate, save up for a good amp. Those amps at that price that "say" they are 400-800 RMS are lying. That is more like their peak ish. Half it and then you might get close to what theya re really pushing out.
Trust me mate, DONT DO IT.

look my mate is runnin a new sony red sub 1200 watts an 380 watta mp an its bin fine for weeks an loud as feck he's under powering buy nearly 1000 watts an he nows all about electrics trust me lol

Pioneer 550 watt is NOT the RMS value, thats the peak output. You would expect the RMS of that amp to be half of that or less. This isnt something you should be doing.

once again you are fucking wrong, i guarantee this and corb and snowy will back me up, you dont have a clue. You WILL NOT find an amp that shoves out 800 watts RMS for less than 100 quid, so prove me wrong.
You need a 500wrms amp or more to power your sub properly, now i know what the fuck im on about.

Snowys 500RMS amp was silly money,but was TRUE rms power.I paid £500 my amp and its 1200RMS. If you want real RMS ratings foran amp thrn look at quality makes like JL Audio, Genesis, Phoenix Gold, Ground Zero or my current personal facorite............... Audison. These amps are the bollox. Their HR100 amp weighs in at arond £10000and its rated at 2x100RMS.
Pioneer,Kenwood,Sony,JVC,SPLX etc etc are poor power ratings.
Excuse any typos(its taken 15minits to typethis), ive found my way through half a bottle of JD, and ive not drunk alcohol now for 8months!!!

WTF are you on about here. I would love for you to find an amp that can kick out that kinda power for under £100. Mine amp is 500RMS from 1.5 through to 4 OHM. Now thats a serious bit of kit. (JL Audio 500/1) Costing me £600. So dont start shooting your mouth off at us. All we are here to do is to give advice and try and help people like you. We dont want you to get a shitty amp to run a not bad sub. FUK sake if your gonna do it. Do it properly.
