Here is my new project.

Been keeping my eye out for a clean corsa for a while and this come up on autotrader and just had to have it. shell is pretty tidy , apart from a few car park dings here and there, and minimal rust (nothing a wire brush and some paint wont sort out)

2000 Corsa sport 1.4 16v, 70k mileage

First thing was to fit the fanblades from my old cav and remove the interior.

ran round in the saab for a week or so and its faultless , for 150k miles it drives spot on.

made a start stripping it. hopefully engine will be out by this weekend. then i can get the loom sent off and the ecu for a remap. going straight for stage 3 so will need a 3" downpipe and a decent intercooler setup.

also had a new turbo recently

9000 block is taller than a 900 block, thought the 93 block was based on the 900 block but might pay to check.
What sort of os mount are you using?
Start looking for a different gearbox option as that f20 won't last five minutes on a turbo engine,f28,f23!
Theres a few about know if info neded.

cheers mate , doing alot of reasarch and reading through project threads etc .

have seen a few people say they have had f20s go bang in less than a month , and ive had the ecu upped to stage 3 so defo wont last long! it's only a short term solution to see the car running and driving .

did consider f28 but the price there fetching now , trying to build this on a budget so f23 does seem the best option . just need to find out abit more info about converting the clutch to hydraulic.

os mount is an ebay job , looks like this

engine back out again!! hopefully for the last time.

not much room to get the radiator in and out with the engine in place so ive cut the slam panel out

IMG_0045 by nick dawes, on Flickr

got a new front panel on order , cut that abit longer than were ive cut on the car . bolt it in and it should look original

filled mounts with some sealer as well . should stop the engine moving around too much .

Good move with slam panel and engine mount.
Use the support beam behind the bumper though or body will flex like mad.
There are two types of f23,starter at front or back.
Obviously ratios as well.
Going well!

You can get a conversion piece so you don't have to run the pas pump if you have the electric rack.frees up some room.

cheers mate . cut the slam panel out cause its very tight for space at the front . struggle to get the radiator in with it in the way

still going to use the slam panel , just have it bolt in instead to make it easier for working on the car.

have had a look at the ratios and an f23 from an astra gsi seems the best option . not sure on gearbox mounts though. do you have one fitted on yours and have any pics thanks.

not a exciting update

slowly getting it built back up . few clearances issues but its going back together well

with the arb fitted there isnt room to connect the oil cooler pipes . standard oil cooler has seen better days so time for a new one. its close to the oil filter as well

arb lowering blocks.

its very tight for space behind the radiator. need to bring it foward inline with the front crossmember. using a corsa diesel rad and it seems very long, so might have to see about using someting else

No never put mine on the road.i had a f28 bolted to my b204l.to use a f23 easiest way would be to cut some mounts from another shell and graft them on.i broke my set up apart and sold most.anyone near you that can make a rad up smaller but right flow pattern.
