Hi,

Anyone had and experiences with these?
I know they are based on the Audi A4. But how much is used?

I was looking at getting an a4 tdi but I can get an exeo for the same price but newer and better equipped.
Do they use the same 2.0 tdi engine? (140 bhp) are the other parts/build quality similar or the same?

All the VAG stuff is heavily 'cloned' where possible so if its the A4 platform it will be basically the same car

All the mechanical parts are A4, the dash is from an A4 cabriolet, the middle of the car is identical, doors etc are exactly the same, the only difference is styling on the front end and rear end.

just read its the b7 body but the b8 common rail engine

which is supposed to be better

I think all of the VAG engines (other than the 2.0FSI) are pretty good

I've driven one but was 4 years ago.
All I remember is that it was pretty quick.

Personally i would go for the Audi A4. Build quality is far better than SEAT.

We looked the exeo when getting the Astra Estate and the build quality was very basic.

It was 2k cheaper mate. A car my mrs uses to do the weekly shop and drive the little one around in. It's big, it's safe and was a really good deal. What more do you want?

You said the Seat's build quality was 'very basic' (despite it being pretty much a rebadged Audi), yet apparently a cheaper Vauxhall is better built just because you now own one

just been in one. Very audi. build quality was of audi standard too imo

very comfy place to be just a shame the outside was twatted going to see another on Sunday

Where did I say the Astra build quality is better? I've said the Astra suited our requirements and was a cheaper option

I'm pretty sure when these were launched, the A4 production line in wherever it was (Germany?) was dismantled then re-assembled in Barcelona. We're talking about 8years ago but sure that's what they told us

That's probably true. Our engine line is designed to be dismantled and reinstalled anywhere in the world.

Infact a company in China recently bought and shipped an entire production line out to continue engine building over there.

Picking it up today

Was very tempted to go for the older Audi A4 due to the fact they look better and have the Audi badge. but the condition of this one swayed me

We had one at work as a company pool car.

Worked well, never went wrong in 40,000 miles, was economical and well built.

Only thing we noticed was front tyres did not last long, even with mostly motorway driving.
