There isn't enough global computing power for agencies to be brute-forcing all forms of encrypted communications (which is why a lot of agencies are having hissy fits and want governments to start placing backdoors into networks); so no Bart, they're not monitoring all of our communications

Tbf, i doubt most agencies have the processing power and storage to allow them to monitor and collect (meta) data on all forms of 'open' communication anyway; rather they'll be selective

Okay may have been over zealous in "all" communications and don't for one minute think they're brute forcing many encrypted comms, but it has been noted ALOT of open channels are being recorded and meta data stored.

If it's an IS stronghold (i believe it's their self made Capital city of their caliphate) why don't they obliterate it completely?

20 bombs is hardly going to do much, unless they're hiroshima style, which they aren't.

That's insane. False alarm but the panis those guys must feel is unimaginable.

Just see on itv news they were filming in a restaurant, everyone peaceful and calm and then the sudden panic. It's quite shocking!

Also, a photo of the Bataclan Theatre afterwards. Don't look if you get upset easily. I would say it's NSFW also

What does the western world do here then; continue targeted bombing in Syria as retaliation? That's just fuel for the fire IMO.

Not so long ago we had unionists and republicans doing the very same in Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK. It took a long time and whole load of pain before the IRA realised that bombing and terrorism was not the answer. Only politics and Sinn Féin could get them to an amicable solution. Although a little leftfield, Jeremy Corbyn isn't far off in his analysis but I will concede there is a middle ground somewhere between his approach and the other currently active EU leaders.

Continue as we do at the moment and I feel that we must prepare for another attack closer to home, perhaps London again. I don't see the US being immune to terror either.

Had increased security on the gates at work because of this. They must think American companies are targets.

Increased with machine gun wielding men? Or an additional overweight bloke wearing a V-neck jumper and ill-fitting shirt struggling to breath from the overwhelming amount of fat surrounding his internal organs making you feel completely safe.

I'll let you guess the increased level of security I have seen today.

yeah, same here. It was quite laughable. I guess he would just have to press the red button in case of emergency, rather than try to tackle a gun wielding nutter.

I've moved my desk to nearer the door today to act as security for my company as I'm a tough looking man.
