I know food and inparticularly Burgers are a good talking point on here...

McDonald's have introduced new thicker burgers to compete with the likes of Five Guys etc. See here > http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mcdonalds-launches-new-thicker-premium-6772030

We have a really good Burger joint called Love-Thy-Burger in Colchester and this has really made the 'Gourmet Burger' market open up around town.

Luckily enough the McDonalds at Colchester Stadium is testing these new burgers so I'll aim to try one over the weekend and report back

About time, although mcdonalds will never compete with the proper burger places.

How do you know what places are trialling them? I'm south east/London so hoping theres one near me.

There's a load of 'Gourmet burger' places around here now (and I'm assuming everywhere else too seeing as it's the new fad)

Can anyone tell me how five guys work?

We walked into one in Bluewater. Didn't onow whether we were supposed to sit down and wait for a waiter or go and order like mcdonalds?

In the end we fucked off as there was no one around to ask.

Ah ok, cheers.

Just had a look on their website. Seems you can order and pick it up. Bloody expensive though. Works out at about £17 for a double bacon cheeseburger, fries and drink

Can get a decent steak for that.

Behave, £17 doesn't even get you a fillet at Beefeater and that's far from 'decent'

Tbh, you're better off going to Patty and Bun (if you're in the capital) or Meat Liquor than Five Guys which is generally overpriced for what you get; Patty and Bun is about £12/13 and vastly better.

Everybody knows the more expensive it is, must mean you're a superior being, and a professional eating expert. You must be wrong if you enjoy something cheaper


Five guys is pricey, but it's also nice.


Was in Manchester few weeks ago, and paid I think it was £16 for a burger and chips.

Don't like the prices? Go elsewhere, simple really

Haha £8 I think I've been had.

Few places near me but they all tend to serve the stuff in baskets, pain in the ass to try and cut it up.

And the accessorised chips normally end up soggy.

But yeah, not 20 quid haha
