What a shitehouse of a forum this is

Dougie the administrator is quite helpful but the rest of the site jesus wept.

Everyone is OBSESSED with warranties. If anyone even shows a hint of modding their car everyone engages anger mode to make sure that person knows their warranty will be invalid if they do xyz. And if that person decides they want to anyway, they get angrier about it saying things like "I cant believe you are throwing away your warranty"

Someone who has done a few minor mods to their car had a problem and made a warranty claim, maybe "forgetting" to tell Vauxhall about the mods. This was successfull and vauxhall agreed to fix it, most of the members then went on a personal stalking crusade to find out what mods he had done to ensure dougie/vauxhall were aware to fuck up this guys claim

If its not that then they are moaning about 1) the intelilink system being too bright in the mornings and "blinding" them, 2) stones flicking up off the tyres and damaging the undersides of the side skirts, 3) brakes squeaking a bit..the list goes on

In all fairness he's not wrong, I was on there a lot when I had the Vectra and my god there's some absoloute cretins on there. The administrators think there some kind of law enforcers, any links to s car or parts on eBay get deleted any posts helping another memeber out offering parts they need for sale gets deleted and they go on a big power trip over it. It's full of middle aged men who haven't got a clue what they are doing with there cars asking stupid questions then arguing with you when you give an answer, slating off all the tuners because there car doesn't run right after a map. Never seen anything like it, there was a post the other day someone moaning about how quiet it is on there and someone mentioned the Facebook groups is no wonder no one bothers with that forum any more it's shit.

A forum full of middle aged, balding, fat Vectra VXR owners wanking over warranties and stone chips. Would rather shit in my hands and clap.

Vectra VXR is the biggest oxymoron going. The Vectra has to be the most inert car I have ever driven.

Just a thread full of do-gooders pissed that somewhere along the line an owner who as modified gets work carried out under warranty when arguably it should be void. One particular post caught my eye...

quote:

Maybe because people who mod cars get warranty by telling 'white lies' and us who tell the truth get nothing? Make sense? No.

Cry me a fucking river mate. There are no prizes for telling the truth to a dealer, it's not a confessional session at the church.

It's not great over there. Didn't use it much, even when a VXR owner.

Couldn't fault mine to be fair, apart from being expensive to run and tax and repair bills for chains being expensive the performance you get for the price of the car is fantastic, not the best handling thing in the world but for cheap, modern ish, practical and fun car I couldn't find anything better to buy for 4K when I bought mine.

How many times do you need to change the chains?

People say the corrado chains are a £1500-£2000 job, i did mine with all genuine VW parts and cost about £300 and a bit of reading to know how to do it.

I kinda gave up on that forum. I can almost predict the newest posts for vectra section.

Someone with chains.
Someone with cracked alloys.
Someone slagging TMS remap.
Someone getting told pics of their car are great, awesome, sweet etc.
Someone asking about dumpvalves and being told don't.

Maybe missed summat but that was about all I saw in the five years I had mine lol.
