Quite a few people enjoy these type of threads the past couple I've done and matts done a few too
62 plate Nissan Qashqai. Car was bought at a local Vauxhall dealership, these things are known for having seat loom plugs getting stuck in the seat runners bringing airbag lights on
This had happened and vaux had set about botching it. Cutting out the loom plugs. Removing about 4-5 inches of wiring then soldering it back together very badly. So when you moved he seat back it brought the lights back on
Anyways. I would of just repaired it but airbag signal wires arnt suppost to be soldered anyway according to Nissan themselfs.
Solution? Full new interior loom and both front seat looms.
Not too hard of a job to be fair just very time consuming
Essentially all the interior out bar the dashboard
Couple of quick photos.

New and old looms together to check plugs are correct
Started refitting the new loom. Got it all lined up. Just needs plugging in and the interior refitting tomorrow morning. 
68 separate loom plugs in this loom. Not just under the carpet though it goes under the roof liner for the centre seatbelt pretensioner. Also is the loom for the back lights, including the rear bumper lights and sensors.
Also the fuel pump loom and goes through the floor under the car and includes the rear abs and brake load spring sensors too
Not a quick and easy job

Love loom jobs when they just keep getting bigger. Suppose if you've got the guidance there or a new one to see the scale you've some idea. I've done salvage ones in the past thinking where the hell is this going to end.
Puma body loom needs the dash out so you touched lucky there

Haha I didn't open the other one up until I had this one out. Just kept following it until it stopped.
Luckily these have separate dash looms, like all new nissans now. They join on both sides under the kick panels

Evaporater on a j10 is easy but drivers door off
Evaporate on a f15 is a shit job though
More than likely that original fault was at the pins to the airbag control module

The original fault was wires getting trapped in the seat runners.
I wouldn't be putting a body loom on for an airbag module haha
Done a evap on a f15 before. Fiddly as fuck
Are you electric car certified? If so have you done many of the electronic heater recalls on the leafs before?
Now they, are a pain in the arse.

I was told no loom wires should be soldered but them duraseal connectors are ok.

What's wrong with soldering?
We used it across the board not that log ago for jointing everything from lv right up to hv. Only recently it's changed to mechanical joints and that's just for speed

The airbag stuff will put a light on if the resistance is wrong, I'd guess you'd change that soldering the joint.

Nothing will be 'technically wrong' with soldering but as Ian says its because its the AirBag circuit there will be all sorts of safety advisories and policies in place.
Its not worth getting sued over if somebody dies!

As above. We're allowed to solder certain joints using certain types of solder. Our tech diagrams will tell us what we are and arnt allowed to solder.
Crank sensors for example. Live, ground and signal wires. Only allowed to solder the live...

Good thread this and it's came up at the right time. My sisters on the look out for a new Qashqai and asked me what to look out for. I haven't the foggiest so this is one problem I can tell her lol.
Any other issues these come with??

Soldering was unacceptable ten years ago when I was at vw Dee.
