I see what you're getting at but i wouldn't say it's like typical sports in the sense that i'm not going to play footy at Wembley or drive a McLaren F1 car, however i can play GTA 5 or Fifa etc

It's clearly a new generation thing and it's only going to become more popular but i still don't get it

Edit - Rob, is the Official Xbox One Digital TV Tuner dual-tuner or single?

Single as far as I'm aware; you can't yet record on the Xbone to use it as a DVR, so I guess it doesn't matter for the moment - unless you were wondering if you could watch one thing on the Xbox and another on a phone or tablet via a single aerial connection; in that case, the answer is no - you can watch a single live broadcast TV channel across all your Xbox-connected devices at any one time.

I'm sure they'll bring out a dual one when they finally let you schedule live TV recordings to your console, or maybe you'll be able to plug a second one in; who knows.

I'm not sure I see to much of a point in the TV thing?

You plug a TV cable into your adapter, which plugs into your Xbox which then plugs into your TV ?

I mean ok you can "snap" it, but would you honestly be able to watch TV and play Xbox at the same time?! Maybe those little dweebs on COD with Jedi reflexes that have 978% KDR can do it, not sure mere mortals can though

Seems like a gimmick to me? Am I missing something?

I've had 3 (!) 360's since 2005 and tbh after talking to a mate who has a One and seen first hand all the pissing updates that take an eon to load up... I'm thinking of getting a PS4 next. That and I hated the feel of the controllers, nothing wrong with the 360 ones and don't feel cheap like the new ones do. #mytwop

I got it for the ability to stream live TV to another device. i.e. the Mrs can fuck off and watch Hollyoaks in the bedroom on the tablet while I do proper man stuff on the Xbox.

I don't doubt that may be useful if you have it but surely the tablet can just use iPlayer or Catchuptv apps?

Catchuptv streaming quality is gash - I'm hoping this jobby will be better.

Also having TV via the Xbox means you can voice control changing channels and stuff, and also pause / rewind up to 30 minutes.

I'll let you know how I get on; it might be a complete waste of time. I'm hedging my bets on Microsoft enabling some sort of DVR functionality in time.

Brother has the tuner for his PS3 and it's extremely handy tbh, especially as it acts as a DVR - saves on having an external freeview/freesat DVR box.

It's usually compressed to high-hell. Only the BBC have it right, although they spend a shed load on the iPlayer and it's infrastructure.

Bonky £35 Kinect 2.0 from CEX turned up today. It's pretty cool. Arrived clean and with plastic film still attached - if it had been used previously, you couldn't tell!

The voice functions work well, the face recognition to automatically sign you in works well, the hand gestures work well... basically it works well.

Tried it out with Xbox Fitness - it can somehow read your heart rate and tell you if you're not doing the exercise quite right (it will tell you to lift your knees higher or whatever).

In Forza Horizon 2, you can control the GPS by voice - tell it to set a route to the nearest <whatever> and stuff.

Would feel hard done by if I'd paid full price for one (the wrong side of £120 IIRC), but I reckon it's rude not to get one at £35.

Same, Brett, pretty sure it used to be there.

I've just been going on the browser and using it via that,

Picture this, none of your mates are online so you sit and watch the Eastender Omnibus. "Jambo has invited you to play Forza" pops up on the screen, winner.

It's just unifying your television activities into one interface. Also your Kinect voice command work for pausing Sky etc.

What's the adaptor for? I just plug my sky box straight into the xbox, always have. Does it turn the xbox into a tuner or something?

Depends what you want to do with it. If you want to play games or use gestures, it ideally needs to be in line with the telly as you need to see what's going on on the screen and you need to be facing the Kinect for it to work. It can be mounted on top of the telly if you've got a soundbar or whatever.

For voice control it doesn't really matter where it is. The cable is 9 feet long.

Glad you're getting on well with it Rob. I was going to buy the TV tuner thing for it too... seemed like a nice addition for cheap. I find the TV stuff on PS4 really crap, but luckily I bought a new TV at the same time and the smart functions are pukka, boots up so quickly! Plus it has All 4 which is the most important one to me.

I don't have ITV Player either but apart from Take Me Out there's nothing I watch on there anyway lol.

I always sell my games to fund the next generation console... new console means new games for me but whatever floats your boat I suppose. The new controller looks awesome though!

I bought an Xbox One at the weekend. It came with Halo Master Chief Collection. I'm not interested in the game though so would anyone want to trade it for something else? Or buy it?

Brett, want to buy it so you don't need to use old 360 game to play the old Halos?

Never liked Halo, was hoping that they'd make the CODs available more than anything. Hate this new advance warfare BS they're messing around with.

EDIT: Just checked and found this http://www.blackops3.co.uk/hot-news/xbox-one-backwards-compatibility-to-xbox-360-call-of-duty/ can anyone confirm? Don't want to buy them and them not work

2nd EDIT: Screw it, games I wanted were only £3 delivered so bought them anyway.

Pretty sure that is fake. Not sure what the point is though.

This is the 360 list so far: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility/available-games

As reported by Eurogamer, some games perform very poorly though.

I take it you're a Preview member then?
