Settling in and running nicely now. Zero smoke, engine is silent.

On the move you get an ebsoloutely wicked load of turbo noise and a good sneeze when coming off boost. Its just what I wanted. At 70mph on an Mway its silent. Excellent.

Figures:

Astra Coupe Turbo: 192bhp and 184l/b Torque
EDS Remap: 235bhp and 290l/b torque

Torque steer isn't too bad but it looses traction very easily So much torque. Very good day to day car.

Engine plans are complete aside from timing belt water pump and rocker cover gasket which will be done soon.

Need bodywork and suspension sorting next. Boot and GSi front bumper + windscreen seal. Headlights will be renewed and grille finished off.

Suspension will be 30mm Eibach springs, new top mounts (OEM) and drop links are on the way out so will likely do them at same time.

Then its pretty much done. Just want to do some sound deadening.

I was trying to hunt some shark eyes down but failed. There was some on ebay but I missed them.

Balls to a GSi bumper... go for more power

I think for now the power will have to do! It is fairly pokey and great for overtaking etc whilst still retaining the standard exhaust.

More power now needs:

VXR injectors
80mm AFM
Colder plugs
Full exhaust system.
Possibly a clutch.

Thing is the clutch and the exhaust are mega money, and I don't really want a parrpy crappy exhaust.

So will have to do for now.

Use the c20let clutch cheap and can take the power. Can't comment for exhaust as mine was just shy of 1k

Yeah I don't mean the part I mean the labour in fitting plus I don't want a loud exhaust nor do I wish to spend £1k on one

It's struggling for traction as it is Don't need more power

Ok adjusted the actuator to the internet prescribed 4 threads.

It is now much, much, much smoother. It is also a bit slower but at least it is no longer trying to tear the steeringwheel out of my hand

Still not 100% right, I bought a little vacuum pump thing but it was next to useless. So might have to pick up a boost gauge and see what it is doing on the move.

I have a custom exhaust, its quiet and good on the motorway. Got the Courtenay clutch which is and does take a hammering, its holding up well. Also LMF were selling VXR FPR's off cheap if you need one.

Tip... TC off intall LSD and sticky tyres is my suggestion

How cheap is cheap?

Still got a bit of hesitation part throttle/load. Worse now than when we adjusted it. Will have to adjust it again. Ordering a boost gauge today.

So called the company I got the mounts from and they admitted they sent me the wrong stuff and sent me a FOC bracket. So refitting this soon which should take care of the bumper/boost pipe issue.

Not got around to re doing radiator mount etc.

However the car just wasn't happy boosting just on/off jerky boost. So took a gamble and ordered a new rear boost control solenoid as this went on my old Gsi. Fitted that tonight and it's like a different car. Superseded part so hopefully won't have this issue again. Also fitted a new coolant temp sensor obviously as its a Vauxhall and it seems much happier at lower speeds when cold.

Now need to test boost levels and tweak the actuator!

It was the ECU supplied by one of those types that everyone on the forums bums but is actually shite.

Boosts fine now, moire economical also.
