Bad move getting one? Seem like a lot of car foe the money they can be had for now. I know gearbox and suspension are prone to going but the one I've seen has had those sorted.

Thoughts?

Which Gen? From memory they are mega money to maintain and fix.

RS6 on here (no joke) is probably the best to give you advice I think he has had a couple!

Yeah I realise brakes and what not are a fortune I guessed as long as they were ok upon purchase then I'd be ok lol never usually have cars long enough to have to replace anything expensive.

The more I read about potential probs and their cost to fix tho makes me think it could end in tears

heard they are an absolute nightmare for costs, pretty certain I read a thread about 8k costs to rebuild gearboxes etc, I would genuinely be scared to drive it for fear of it breaking.

My mate has just had the box out on his, said he's going to sell it in case anything else goes. Loads of jobs need the engine out and the stuff is loads of money.

Absolutely the fastest thing I've ever been in though, proper wall of power.

I know of an rs6 where I saw the gearbox break after a hard launch beautiful car but I think it cost around 2,500 for a replacement box launched nice though

I sold my S3 because I got fed up of trying to bodge it back together in order to avoid Audi parts prices, I can only imagine an RS6 would be the same x a lot.

Lots of car for the money if you're willing to take the risk though.

Mine cost me an absolute fortune! Probably could have bought another one with what I spent on it! Get a TVR Tuscan, will cost you less!

That's it! So much power for the money. Makes me wet thinking about it

This one has just recently had the box sorted at a cost of £4k. Maybe they're getting rid before more costs

I like the fact its a rapid motor without sacrificing anything I need, space, comfort, etc.

Also read about a lot of stuff being engine out, things like O2 sensors can be a massive job

I'll put you in touch if you want a look at it, he's only in St Helens so might be worth a look. Think he's doing the cam belt and a few other jobs while its in bits but he's already decided to get shot, needs to scratch his Porsche itch I think.

I've looked at them a few times, but if an RS6 is expensive to run, they would make your eye water with repairs

Thing is with things like this, you could potentially run a F355 for less, a lot less.

Don't do it brett! Just get a Scoob wagon, tune it.

I say fuck it go for it. But then I do a lot of my work on cars myself so the costs are nowhere near as crippling.

I want one next year. But I'm undecided if I want a cayenne turbo or an rs6. I want something big and comfy but also fast.

Lad I know bought a nice blue rs6 saloon he only had it a few months, he's genuine reason for sale, he was scared of the potential repair costs. But saying that if the suspensions been changed gearbox sorted and brakes sorted it may be ok.

Sounds like me when I was thinking of getting an RS4 estate

Went on the internet read horror storys and shat myself shelving the idea in the process.
Although when I was at brands hatch the other week there was a chap there giving on absolute death round the track and it sounded the tits. Bloody shifting too and didnt look bad in the bends for a big wagon!
