First descent, it's pretty good! My mate is filming this time so that's my lack of talent in front.

Castle crag descent, rocky stuff.

My xc bike manages it all pretty well even though I only have 26" wheels.

You would really enjoy the West Highland Way route in Scotland. Could be a nice trip away for you and your mates.

i was at bike park lakes today actually, riding garburn pass. videos to follow, it was nice and rocky. one of my mates was there riding it all on a hard tail bike.

according to my strava I've done 17 rides this year, 215 miles so far and 29,987ft of climbs

Awesome riding conditions at Chicksands Bike Park currently if you don't fancy riding in slop!

I conquered the last Expert section last week and rode again today, it's fully awesome.

Which is more than can be said for my mates first iMovie attempt. I'm first. Then it is my dad and Gaz, then my dad again in slow motion. Not bad for 53 aye?!

That's garburn pass descent. It will look a lot tamer in the video than it was to ride I bet. Proper fun.

First ride out on the new bike today all i can say is that it is a very capable bike its fast downhill it climbed really well i might need to upgrade the air canister in my rear shock to a larger capacity one due to me being so fat and i think mine may be maxxed out on the amount of psi i can put in

perhaps, and i don't mean to sound rude as I'm not trying to be, it would be cheaper to adjust yourself rather than the shock. would make biking easier also. lose some of the beef.

Cole get some air volume spacers. It's got the extra volume eyelet so you can adjust the air volume using them. Also crack it open to see if it has one in it already. If not then you have loads of potential.

well turns out the shock wasn't maxxed out the shock pump is up the creak when connected up it shows 190psi so tried to add some more air and the gauge started to rise then all of the sudden jumped to 300 psi so tried a friends pump and it pumped up fine no problem

Sick of the gps app on my phone fucking up, nothing worse than nearly puking your guts up on a ride and getting back to nadda on the phone.

So I've gone to the darkside and bought a Garmin. Just a cheap arse one. But it also means I can join the dark art of "Strava" is this something I'm going to regret?

Your legs wont thank you for a handle bar mounted gps
They create an addiction for maintaining certain speeds lol
strava is good and bad in equal respects. I quite like it as it provides banter between mates. Some people do take it too serious though

The only reason I have a cheap garmin and use strava is to generally track my activities, time and distances only really as not interested in segments. But it is handy for looking at to see whether somewhere you have not riden before has some good places or for finding those hidden trails where you normally ride.

Tbh I've used a website called heiaheia for years to log everything I do. Downside is I get a bit OCD logging stuff I do and when shitty phone gps lets you down it's very annoying. Hence I bought a cheapy Garmin 200 purely for gps tracking.

Still not sure if I should start using Strava yet, some folk seem a bit obsessed with it. But I do like the idea of finding new routes etc..

I almost died today trying to set a new KOM on a decent on Strava today:

Set 3 KOM's and 6 PB's on the ride though so it was worth it!

Strava sucks....

Well to be fair it's me who sucks. Strava just knocks it home with a cold, heartless and clinical blow that cuts to the bone.
