Good morning all,

This is driving me round the bend! Ever since i've had my S3 on O2 I have not been able to recieve picture messsages or send them half the time. I have to log into the O2 website and view them online., all I want is them to come through to my phone.

I've been to store and spoken to them online and I have the right MMS settings even though they told me i didn't and gave me the same thing...

Anyone able to shed some light on this?

Thanks,

Dan

I shouldn't need to use a 3rd party app though to send MMS?

Not sure how MMS are received but if it's using data it might coincide with 3G not working.

On my S3...

G = Fine
G+ = Fine
E = Fine
3G = Nothing
3G+ = Nothing
H = Fine
H+ = Fine.

Chances are it's a setting issue; are you sure they gave you the right settings? And are you sure you have MMS setup on your O2 account (contact customer services and get them re-add MMS if need be)?

If they got you to do a 'ACTIVE 2020' then you usually get sent the PAYG settings. Personally i would reset your APN settings (Settings > Mobile Networks > APN > Menu + Reset to Defaults), then restart the phone; this will grab the settings off your SIM.

If that doesn't work then create the APN's manually.

Edit - Quick Google and a thread all about it - http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/APN-Settings-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S3/td-p/276660

Stupid point, but make sure your data is turned on. Many times i've turned data off and then wondered why i couldnt recieve Pictures.

yeah many times, just trying the resetting hte APN route and I have many options that can be used, these are:

O2 Mobile web (default selected)
O2 Prepay
Tesco Mobile
O2 MMS (I cant select this option as it has no tick box)

This may help:

http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/APN-Settings-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S3/td-p/276660

Basically, you have to speak to customer services and they need to do something on your account for it to work by the looks of things?

Whatsapp is at least free (unless you have free MMS). Saves all the fucking about

I'd contacting CS and seeing if 1) MMS is enabled on your account and 2) if it is that they enable it; you might get thrown around a bit whilst on the phone to CS but hopefully you'll get someone that knows their arse from their elbow.

No a solid solution though, not everyone has access to Whatsapp nor has it installed.
