I can understand playing a day early and getting away with it but some people on mw3 had it a week early and some of them got banned

Some places were selling Black Ops 2 two weeks ago and have been playing it online, so far no ban.

The leaderboards aren't up yet so the only thing that could be reset is rank/prestige.
Don't think they'd do that though, all the crybabies would be out in force then

Those that get Black Ops II early should not be afraid to play it online. Game design director David Vonderhaar has confirmed on Twitter that those with legitimate copies of the game will not be punished.

What’s more, Treyarch does not intent to reset the stats when the game official launches.
