That's fine then I just assumed as you made the comment in the thread about some more advanced multi-copters you might have been expecting anywhere near similar performance

They are just unstable due to their weight plus the IMU's aren't the best..

With helicopters its always been bigger the better, but obviously with size comes expense

Are quadcopters controls all the same?

i.e: my throttle isn't spring loaded, just sits where you position it and that side also controls its rotation on the Z axis

Spring loaded..??? Spring loaded throttles are for 5 quid toys!

That's a four channel transmitter you've got.. Left hand-side should be throttle and yaw, right hand side should be pitch and roll.

How much better is it flying the quads wth a normal remote over say using an iPhone as I'm considering it for my AR drone

Am getting good at it now. Landed it in someones hand, not using the yaw yet though.

Got 2 sets of props, spare body, 2x spare motors, spare battery and the screws coming, £9.99 delivered from amazon, bargain really.

Now that's looking suspiciously like something from one of the Terminator films.

quote:

A MAN was decapitated and killed

Have to say as well, I did find this line in that news article (about the bloke decapitated by his model helicopter) quite funny.

Should be banned in public places imo

Its like running around any direction in mid air with a lawnmower that has no body.

I found one of those Hubsan things in my garden yesterday, expecting someone to come knocking on the door for it. It had a cheapo mini camera strapped to it with an elastic band - possibly why is crashed? Plugged it in to see if I could work out where it had come from but it didn't seem to have captured any videos so bit of a fail on all accounts from whoever owns it It has a bust propeller and not much I can do with it without a control, maybe they will chuck that over my fence too

Personally, unless it's fitted with a machine gun, I don't see the point.
