just won myself a cheap set of coilovers for the car on ebay:

also, went for a MOT last saturday, found out the front coil spring has snapped and one of the callipers is leaking. nothing that cant be sorted out easily.
does anyone know what car is best for some 2 litre brakes? I remember taking them off a vectra B previously but had a lot of problems with finding 4 stud 280 / 288 discs?

me and my dad have been out spending a lot of money this month getting the car ready for track days next year.
clutch foot rest:
Battery isolating Switch
i've also bought some coilovers which i'm picking up tomorrow and some bucket seats. just need to work out how to fit the seats.
plans next are:
- move battery to behind seats
- add isolating switch
- add dials into where the radio would be
-tracking
-finish refurbing the road wheels
-fit fire extinguisher
-change brakes for uprated
-finish polybushes on front
-remove fan and replace for slimline
there a lot to be getting on with before the new year!

been a busy weekend, started off on friday by going up to hemel hempstead to get some coilovers.
got them home and realised they could do with a quick rebuilt as they had seen better days. threads were knackered etc. ended up taking the whole day just to dislodge the height adjusters with the help of a blowtorch , wd40 and a lot of strength.I also enrolled help from the girlfriend and brother to give us a hand taking them apart and painting them up.
got my brother wire brushing the rear springs and my girlfriend painting them.

once we had rebuilt them, me and my dad set about putting it all onto the car. this turned out to take a lot longer than expected. first we fitted the rear shocks only to find that both had been cross threaded at the top. so that meant pulling them back out again to get rethreaded. we eventually got them all in and set up.
on to the front coilovers. passenger side went in nice and easy but the drivers side bottom nuts just wouldnt budge, they even broke a breaker bar! we tried heating them up aswell to no luck. ended up taking it to a friends garage to loosen it.
finally after a whole weekend we fitted the coliovers. i wont be buying second hand coilovers again simply because of the hassle and poor condition people keep them in!
add the wheels dad refurbished and heres the end result:

got the tracking sorted after we fitted the coilovers. now it doesnt feel like wheel is gonna fall off
made a metal plate for the isolating switch and two dials: oil and battery. also managed to wire the battery one up.
we then changed the temp sensor as the temperature wasn't reading on the clocks but hasnt fixed it.
changed the oil manky header tank. forgot to take a picture of the new one.
and then we started taking off the rocker cover to spray it. didn't quite turn out as had hoped so we are gonna get it powder coated instead.
and the seats arrived!

 ive got the black versions of them seats added to my ebay watch list . Blue will look mint in a arden car! Wheels look good too matey

Pictures aren't loading so i cant see, but did you change the right temp sensor? they have a seperate sensor for dials?
