Just in case anyone is interested, one sector on my real portfolio which has increased by 99.25% since 2008 is "Threadneedle European Smaller Companies 1 (Acc)"

I have no idea what that is, but maybe you could find out and see how it does for you...

Yeah, as of April 2012 I have just over £124k, but I can't make head nor tail of it either That's why I leave it up to the pros

"Axa Framlington Emerging Markets (Acc)" is up 42.75 since 2008.

They're both listed under the "Stocks & Shares ISA, Freedom ISA" section of my statement.

In the "Portfolio, Freedom Portfolio #1" the best grower was "CF Mgrs CF Ruffer European O (Acc). That's up 12.3% since 2010.

Jinxed myself, down quite a lot of money (on my demo account) at the moment as I shorted on oil this time rather than buying and now oil prices are through the roof thanks in part to what's going on with Libya.

Might leave it a few days, should settle back down.

Having fair luck with first solar again. Buy and sell within a day for small gains. Seems to be working to build up some meat

Been working but I seem to have a knack at checking my phone when its at a price I'd like to sell. The first 2 orders were just to see how it was but the others are from the last couple days, in demo mode of course but tidy profit.

OK I have another question about this Plus500 trading lark...

Say the price for one barrel of oil is 99.40, why is it when you buy it the price goes up or down not in your favour (i.e. you "buy" and the price is 99.10 or you "short" and the price is 99.70).

Is that because it's not updating the prices quick enough, and I assume it's better to place an order for the price you want rather than buying on the spot?

If I understand what you're saying, it sounds like the bid/offer spread.

Been off work (holiday) so haven't been on this. Been having a play about with this app again! After getting done to £10 Iam back to the origional £20 all thanks to oil. It's crazy high just now.

Hope someone can help me! What is it we are buying into? As there's no way we are buying 2 real drums of oil in a warehouse somewhere. Is it buying a part of that drum? Like a portion of that then we sell it on?
