I just got Snow Leopard.... fuck me it's good!

Sooo much quicker and have more hard drive space.

Now, do I get Lion or Mountain Lion?

Currently only got 2gb ram, but ordered 6gb (4gb + 2gb (max for my machine)).

go for lion, not that much difference and mountian lion has some bad reports on older machines.

Personally i think SL is still the best version they've released. Lion/ML is just full of cloud based BS and the flaky all-Apple-product messenger; but if that's what you like then go with Lion or wait until they release an update for ML to fix some of the issues.

10.6 definitely has some performance advantages over 7 and 8. Generally 6 just feels lighter and more nimble to work with.

Every now and again 10.8 also hangs on shut down, more often on my old C2D than the newer i7, and I haven't experienced this since 10.4... Hope they find a fix soon.

And no saving directly to SMB fro Adobe software has completely destroyed my work flow.

All that said, there are some nifty features in the later versions that I've come to use a lot and would be sad to live without.

10.8.2 out. Seems alright so far.

Proper implementation of iMessages is pretty cool.
