"Coming this july"...

Apple's running out of time, it's the 22nd!

I'm impatient.

Many signs pointing to the 25th due to shops being closed overnight for some 'changes', lol no guessing for what they will be for.

I like the idea of having a 'Notes' app that is synced everywhere! Will save me sending emails to myself all the time

Looks like it's quite a good feature set, especially the iMessage stuff.

And cheap too, you never really get cheap upgrades to Windows (with the exception of the limited upgrade price from 7 to 8).

Also, mountain lion = cougar

Why do you need to install each OS?

Just purchase Lion on USB and do a fresh install from that. Alternatively get hold* of the Lion install and then use Disk Utility to copy it to a USB drive or DVD.

*If you want to be legit then you'll need to have SL installed so you can purchase it from the App Store. Just make sure you take a copy of the Lion DMG otherwise after installation it'll be removed.
Or just grab a copy from the internet shops making sure it's a retail copy.

http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MD256Z/A?fnode=62

On there it says

To upgrade your Mac to OS X Lion, you must be running OS X Snow Leopard. If you have OS X v10.5 Leopard, purchase OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard now and install it on your Mac.

And
System Requirements
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)

Is it just me, or is the feature list of Mountain Lion a bit poor?

Reading through this:
http://www.apple.com/uk/osx/

It's actually only really the AirPlay mirroring that I'm truly interested in...

:boggle:

It's legal BS. Just purchase the USB version, press ALT during boot, select the USB drive and it continues like any other OSX install.
As said though, you can download (legit or not) the Lion and 'burn' it to a USB drive or DVD.

Obviously make sure your Mac is supported though (from what i remember 2007>).

I think for Lion your CPU has to be one of the Intel Core i-x ones (i.e. i3/i5/i7).

Ahh yes forgot about the Core and Xeon CPUs.

I only remembered that bit because I was wondering if I could install Lion on my netbook (it has a shitty single core Atom CPU, so no is the answer to that )

Took around 30 minutes to download and then maybe a bit less again to install.

All painless and working well. Not found a broken app
