Hi was after some advice, i had my x16xe on the dyno it made 114.6 bhp the guy said il see 6 - 7 bhp with mapping so thats next. Where do most of you go or have good reputation? And what next for engine mods for £ = power? Its currently a x16 with a lexmaul inlet manifold and protech stainless 4-1 manifold and piper decat and full piper stainless system and a pipercross panel filter.

So we are saying the corsa is under estimated compared to one other 1.6 car?

i phoned up piper to ask about price of cams for my engine the guy asked what im running at the moment and what id be using it for i said fast road/ track and recommended i sent my cams and they re-ground them and bought a kit with all the necessery parts and it came to incl. postage £690.60 and would see 10 bhp this way of course if i got my car mapped aswel i would see a good figure. i think il try newman cams aswel and get a few prices.

i also had a look on the sbd website and i saw you can buy throttle bodies with management for £1900 which is alot of money but its pretty much going to guarantee 164 bhp bolted onto standard engine althou they do recommend a c16 head which i have off the original engine. its not something ive saw much of on 1600 corsa's with throttle bodies anyone know much about this side of things?

over £ = power im thinkng save up abit more and go down the 2nd route?

Sounds like your pretty much at the same stage as I am with mine Tom I bought a set of stage 1 newman cams for mine but found that they wouldnt run on standard management so I took them back out for the minute. I'll be going for Diblas Verniers and then having uni chip software installed and mapped over the winter months

have you looked through the sbd site mate? cant remember where about i saw it on there but there good for 200+ bhp with a great torque figure...

wouldn't like to think id be bolting their bodies on on a standard engine though.

also i read somewhere on there that their top tuned 16xe engines run the x16xeL head.

thanks for the info corsasport21 and mike im not massivly clued up on this side of things so thats what im hoping u lot can help

yeah looks like it shaun i was following your build thread when you were fitting the cams, did u just buy the cams or a kit with springs etc? btw how long did u spend cleaning that engine bay so clean.

i had a quick look through it jed this is where i saw it and saying the gsi head..

http://www.sbdev.co.uk/Taper%20Kits/New%201.6L%20Taper%20Kits/1.6L%20TP%20kits%20introduction.htm

its obviously an expensive option and something that u think for that money i can just put a 20xe in with more power but i want to keep the gsi a 1600.
