seems so. my fiesta is only 12.5k between services, but these engines are pretty much bomb proof i've heard, so maybe that's why it's a big longer?

the car definitely runs better now. it hadn't been serviced properly for 3 years (only done 11k miles in that time).

took my headlamps back off the car when i got the car back to see why they were misting up, and the casing came away from the plastic lens cover without any hassle

went and got some decent silicone sealant to re-seal them, so hopefully that's fixed that.

Must be normal then.

Silicone sealant seems to have done the job

now I need to build a spare headlight back up as the one I put on the car has a bracket missing

finished the headlamp mk1.1 project.

basically, i had to chop up my existing lamps to make 2 good ones.

it's raining at the moment but i'll get some pics later. hoping they don't mist up this time.

a guy local to me has been making some lock covers, so i decided for the sake of £6 for the pair delivered, i'd try them out.

these are the pics of the prototypes on his car. the finished articles are better quality. they look better than a metal lock imo.

apparently, mercedes used to do lock covers where there was a bit of plastic that sat in the actual key hole, whereas these simply stick on. never seen them before though.

I really like that idea although the boot one looks a bit odd. Is there a link for these? Could be tempted to get some for mine.

took a couple of pics at work in the sun. apologies for the dirty car. crappy weather has set in

also got my lock covers through. they are simply a bit of plastic, but the colour match is perfect. will stick them on with a bead of silicone.

The lights look great in those pictures, liked the ambers at first but these look much better

Thanks for the link, il have a check if they are the same size as an E46 but i reckon they will be. More than likely not going to happen as il have to get them sprayed but if i need something else doing i could be tempted.

cleaned the lock's to stick the covers on and the drivers door lock pushed in, then something fell off inside the door, and now the lock is moving freely inside the hole

shoddy bmw build quality.

i've never actually used the lock before so it may have been like it since i bought the car.

got the aux-in finished today. found one of these plates for sale on it's own which looks better than a loose wire flapping around.

alters the responsiveness of the throttle and gives heavier steering.

makes it so much better to drive.

I believe that was a factory option in the later models.

Aux doesn't give the best sound quality so I may fit my jvc headunit in and play songs through the usb port.

Still nice to have aux-in though.

messed around with the aux lead today just to see where i could put it. i decided the small coin holder between the seats was a perfect holder for my phone, so run the wiring through the centre console, then drilled a hole in the bottom of the holder.

i need a new holder as this ones battered, as you can see

also, we've had some mental rain down here today, which shows off the lovely beading that collinite 476s produces. it's rather lovely, although my neighbours must think i'm crazy taking pics of my car in the rain

also, forgot to add. filled the car up today (tesco momentum 99), cost £71

was hardly a drop left in there.
