Well after getting a bit bored with the Mazda RX8 I decided it was time to get something new! It was also costing huge amounts in fuel and running in general so I thought if I was spending lots it may as well be on something special! My insurance is pretty nice (£800ish) on the new car so gives me a bit to play with for upkeep. I travelled all the way to Northumberland for the car - about 400miles each way but no distance is too far for the right car in my opinion

Here it is:

1996 TVR Cerbera 4.2 V8
Pearl Blue
360bhp
0-60 4.2 seconds
0-100 8.9 seconds
Top speed 185mph

And a few pics too

I have never driven another car like it (except the 4.5 Cerbera I had for a few days, long story!) and it's very likely I never will. It sounds, looks and feels stunning. The attention to detail is unbelievable and even the gimmicky touches are brilliant. I have never loved a car quite so much (except my Corsa!) and I'm still struggling to believe it's mine! I'm looking at slight improvements, I'd love to convert the front lights like this:

But I can't afford it right now (£1500)

And I'd quite like a set of upgraded wheels like these:

But can't afford them right now either! (£1200)

So chances are it will probably stay as it is - pretty much perfect!
Comments welcome as ever

Couple more pics

[/QUOTE]

And lots more following a thorough clean:

Thank you

Fair play to you mate. How many little TVR "quirks" have you encountered with it yet (battery draining, leaking etc etc)

Interior is pretty bright isn't it! Love the sound of these though, and when you can, the upgrade to Spiders will look spot on.

Also...

I'd be tempted to do clear front indicator lenses and side repeaters - just makes it look fresher? And I'm sure I read somewhere on Pistonheads before about a mod to make the wipers sit a bit better and more level along the bottom of the screen - just looks better

Had an issue with alarm and also with door sensor. Other than that it's been very well behaved (touch wood) which is more than can be said for the other one! Interior looks better in person than in pics, and yes sound is unreal!

Clears would be great - but so costly! Set of clear front indicators just went for £85 on t'bay!

Tom how are you matey?!
Long story short, owned the 4.5 for a day, attempted to drive it home following day, blew a piston through the head or something to that effect and started pissing oil out of the air intakes! Required full rebuild lol!

Cheers. I have the sports exhaust kit, decats would make the sound unbearable tbh! Yeah 6 month warranty and RAC on all my cars lol!

Thanks mate. Door release is a little button inside. Strangely I quite like the GB badge!
Yeah until you said I'd never noticed the repeaters, strange!

Ok so long time no update!

After a year of 'mostly' trouble-free supercar motoring, the TVR has gone in for an MOT and service at the fantastic Str8-Six:

Unfortunately this has resulted in a fairly large bill of about £2700!

It's having the following:

6k mile service
MOT
Straight through de-cat pipes, refitted exhausts with two new manifolds and two new lambda sensors
Full brake overhaul including refurbed calipers all round, new front and rear pads, new front discs, braided hoses all round, new abutment plates andnew bleed nipples all round.
New throttle linkage and balance
New fuel pipe
New high pressure PAS pipe
New starter motor

All that is taking about 10 days, so I'm in a courtesy car. Last time the garage leant me a car is was this monstrosity:

(Dented boot wasn't me!)

But this time I got something much better:

Affectionately know as "Jap-Jag"

So will do a further update (possibly with video of exhaust) when the car returns!

Step-dad has a chimeara, can't trust it no more due to it deciding to leak fuel from multiple places not long ago, then after filling the tank no leaks anywhere! they have a mind of their own when it comes to leaking... they are still unbelievable cars

Lol at the chimeara on the right (first pic) with the cover to stop the roof leaking!
