When we moved into the house we have installed tv aeriel sockets in every room. When we attached the tv to this the picture never showed.

Looking we found that the house did not have an aeriel so we have bought one.

We've managed to wire it for the tv downstairs so now we get freeview etc but how do you wire it so the rest of the rooms work.

What do you mean you installed aerial sockets but then found out there wasn't an aerial?

No we bought the house (new build) and the sockets were in each room but the wires we left in the loft.

We bought an aeriel and connected the downstairs lead but now can't figure out how to connect the other sockets to it

New builds don't come with aerials, when we looked it's thing woman told us we'd need along with local take away menu for first night!

But you need a splitter box, aerial to splitter then splitter to each socket!

Our house doesn't have an aerial for some reason.

We just decided to get Sky instead, much better IMO

Use an amplifier; install it in the loft or where ever the coax feeds group.

Our house was a new build and the aerial cables were connected to the boxes but just loose into the loft.

Just get someone out to sort it.

Why 'get someone out to sort it'? If you have power in the loft then it's a 20/30min job wiring in an amplifier; any man should be able to tackle that

Tbh I can't be arsed fucking about in the loft. Rather get a pro in to do it so I can be certain its done properly. Thats what they are there for.

If there's power up there it's plugging a box in, literally.

If there's not power it's still not something in need of a 'pro' but whatever you want to spend your money on.

We've no power in our loft. Tbh I put an aerial in our loft, wired it up, but couldn't get a decent signal. Got fed up up of pissing about balancing on beams with an aerial, so got our local guy out to sort it. Easy. Job done. Not sure what the problem with that is? Maybe I lose E points for not doing it myself, I'll live with that.

Our new build only had two wires in the loft. I put other sockets in all the rooms and made runs into the loft. (I also got power up there and an 8 way powered amplifier), However if you don't fancy extending the upstairs ring mains into the loft for a powered amplifier/splitter and you have a decent signal coming in already, you may get away with one of these that is simply plug in. You will need a good strong signal to start with though. Maybe worth a punt before messing with the electrics.
