Just upggraded to a 4s, and realised i have lost my Satnav through Orange. Was a very good service part of my plan. New plan has no satnav.

What are the best alternatives?

I use rarely, only on long journeys not interested in traffic updates or that shit. Just accurate route and ease of use.

What does everyone reccoemnd?

I have two sat navs', but always use this one.

Nav Free

Never had any problems with it, and you can't complain when it's free.

Only thing i have notice is a couple of times, it has taken me down a route, which could have been quicker, but it has always to my destination perfectly fine.

What about Google Maps or Telmaps? Both are free as well.

Google isn't a Satnav, and Telmap says it's a German only Satnav...

Turn by turn on Google Maps isn't available on iPhone.

I use Nav Free and it does the job just fine

Well when Jambo asked for SatNav, i think of the same thing that goes in your car. Like a TomTom.

Something with big pictures, and bird's eye view of your current position.
Something that gives you voice commands.
Something you can leave on the side, and let it do it's job.
and something that will reroute automaticily if you have turned worng.

Google Maps doesn't do that.

As much as use it all the time, it really is useful, it isn't a satnav you get in a car.

Ah, ok i didn't know this.

I thought Eck used his Google maps, looking at his phone, following a blue line, whilest driving all at the same time.

ovi maps is excellent.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Tomtom has worked perfect for me.

I always double check on google maps before i head into the unknown. Too many people rely on satnavs which usually result in them getting lost.
