I'd say the best would be to do objective based games and get as many captures as you can, etc.

I've played for about 5 hours in total now and in that time the only kills I've got are where they haven't seen me. All other close quarters, one on ones, head to heads etc I'm dead whether I shoot first or not. Had to change my whole play style from aggressive to defensive.

But there's a whole array of perks to help that? Aim down sight quicker, target enemies from further away, loads...

Tried everything, noticed people were aiming before I'd even ran round the corner so assumed they see me on UAV so went with assasin (i think it is), others are quickdraw pro and hardline. Then gone for the specialist strikepackage to get slieght of hand after 1 kill, then extreme conditioning and steady aim.
I'm loosing 1 on 1's in close quarters against snipers with an AR I suposse I just got to get used to the pace as its much faster than BO. Players also tend to be far more dispersed like everytime you shoot at someone theres someone behind you/in a window that takes you out within a few seconds, using supressor but not helping much.
Im liking the Type 72 (think it is), just want to unlock rapid fire for it as its supposed to be lethal.

I always play for more than 2 hours anyway so makes no odds really.

I've gots me SCAR with silencer and using Blind Eye, can't wait to get Assassin but whats really fucking me over and getting me 5/6 deathstreaks is spawning and getting shot in the back within seconds. REALLY pissing me off that!

It seems to have the same connection issues that were in MW2 where it is massively dependant on your connection to the host. Sometimes you can run around like Rambo and win every 1v1, the next game the host is on the other team and you drop from two shot's to the ankle.
I guess you just have to take the rough with the smooth and accept what you saw live or via killcam wasn't what actually happened as far as the connection was concerned.

I haven't won a single 1v1 yet.
The killcam always shows that they saw me first, they shot first yet my screen told me a different story.
Even if I start getting somewhere, the game will screw me by me getting spawn killed 5 or 6 times in a row, making me negative on kills again. Its just pointless playing at the mo.
I've had enuff of MW3 already. Lets see if they fix the issues, then maybe I'll play it.
Fucking glad I didn't buy it.

I'm having same issues Dave and NobleOne. Soon as you start doing well the game seems to find some way to fuck you over, namely spawning you infront of an enemy time after time.
Been playing FFA and the outcome 90% of the time is usually that I have more deaths that kills apart from the odd game where I can run around like terminator and end up going 30-4. Got an 11 killstreak one game then couldnt even get 11 kills in total the next.
At least in BO you knew when you had connection issues because it lagged like mad, whereas this seems to play fine yet you do shit.

My best game was i think 16 - 5, that was last night and believe it or not, I was top of my team 
Alot of ppls on Xbox.com forums complaining about the same things as us and as usual, you have a few ppls whos game seems to run magically fine and they don't have problems getting kills, winning match etc and saying everyone thats complaining that they must be shit at the game 
These ppls must have 100Mb connections or some shit me thinks, either that or they are full of shit.
I got killed by someone earlier who was reloading yet the killcam showed them reloading before they even saw me I could see the fucker was reloading so I thought easy kill and fired but nooooo... this game really is shit. I hope some of this stuff gets fixed or at least so its not happening so often. If I'm not shot in the back, 99% of my deaths are utter BS.
