"Stuart Pearce said today that Britain’s leading players will follow the lead of Lionel Messi and demand to be included in his Olympics squad "

He's the U21 manager, makes sense that they'd make him the U23 manager doesn't it?

tbf, they'd be best off recruiting from the Championship as Premiership sides aren't going to let players go, especially with it also being a Euro2012 year

I dontt understand the hate towards Pearce. Especially for a non-event like the Olympics. If he does well.... interesting. If he fails, who cares.

Only reason to watch it will be Lionel Messi.

Apsirational.

My problem isn't with him as a person, it's what he represents, playing CB's in midfield roles, always choosing the big lads. I'd truely like England to move with the f*cking times, yes our league is physical but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to develop young players with some technical ability at the same time as 'big strong boys' .

Nobody good will get picked anyway.

Euro2012 June 8th - July 1st
Olympics July 25th - August 11th
PL same weekend as the Olympics ending I'd imagine.

He won't do any worse than anyone else. Can lead a horse to water and all that!

Will more than likely be made entirely of English players too.

I find it ironic that his first 2 goals for us were a late penalty and a last minute header that crept inside the post.

Just saying like.
