revolution in gateshead had the same scooby as you mate and funnily enough they had the same alloys fitted and they were painted a near exact green as what your doing. looked strangely nice imo, it did have some green pin striping to tie in though.

I've heard froma guy on UKscoobies that he's seen a White Hatch with Orange wheels around our way.

17"s are tiny... when you have 19" as my 'summer' main wheels.

These standard STi 17"s in green will be going on the car at the end of Novmber.

2nd coat of lacquer went on this afternoon to the inner rims.

As I'd ran out of the green spray cans, I nipped out and picked up two more cans from a local car parts shop.. same colour but not same brand of paint. So used one can as a waft 1st coat on the main outside face of the wheel, I'll give them a 2nd coat tomorrow. Then wait till I can get the same brand of paint to finish off the face of the wheels before three lacquer coats go on.
So far I'm happy with how they are building up.

Looking good! Can't beat a bit of DIY spraying. Looks like you're doing a proper thorough job too. I'm looking forward to seeing them on the car in a few weeks

currently my wheels are 245/35/19

being 35mm rubber its like a rubber band around the alloy being 19"
if we get bad snow/weather this year I don't want to wreck the 19" Prodrive GT2 alloys... not cheap with tyres!
So said to the wife it might be better to get a 'cheap' set of alloys for winter.
managed to get the Standard STi alloys at a very good price that I couldn't turn down.
The 17" have 235/45/17 tyres.. the extra 10mm makes a lot of difference in ride comfort

the White BMW series 1 with Green wheels looks ace, don't you think??

The profile part of the tyre size isn't mm, it's a percentage of the width, I.E. 35% of 245mm.

Looks good though mate, I like the colour. Will do well as a set of spare wheels. One question though - when you now spray the fronts, won't you get overspray on the insides?

Don't forget to leave them a couple of weeks or so before having the tyres fitted otherwise the paint will still be too soft.

Couple of weeks?? I've had tyres fitted same day as spraying and they were fine lol.

I would have used white primer, it would have come out alot brighter. I think they'll look good though

I dont think you understand how tyre profiles work...

In all the years ive been driveing ive never had a set of wheels wrecked in winter.

You look like your doing a cracking job, the colour is cool. But id just stick with the other wheels all year. They look far better.
