depends what you want? there isnt that much difference really. the sxi cheaper, lower insurance gp, and still has a decent amount of kit. ok a little bit slower but from what i've heard not by much.
If its performance your after then why not the 1.8 sri or wait for the new turbo?

if thats the case m8, a 1.2sxi is a good balance between engne size and insurance.

Dont let the 1.2 fool u, the original 1.2 8v in the corsa B had 55bhp the new corsa C 1.2 16v has 20bhp more (75bhp) and u can really feel the differance (its good around town and as long as ur not expecting miracles, the performance is quite good)

The other good things about the 1.2sxi is the high trim spec ,,, 15" alloys colour coded bodywork, remote centrel locking, twin airbags, electric windows+mirrors...etc

Also few a few hundred u can make the car look like an SRI!!

Cheers mate. Not too bothered bout the trim as im putting 16's or 17's on it, lowering it and probly re-spraying it to another colour unless i buy a black one. Im going to put a Twin exit Powerflow exhaust and an induction kit on it too. What sort of BHP will i be lookin at if i do. ( on a 1.2 SXI) Cheers JOE

i beleive just adding the exhaust and filter (dont get an induction kit is does nothing for these engines) would add 2-5bhp on a good day! but u should notice better throttle response and a nice induction noise when revving the engine.

an induction kit wont make any difference to a corsa c. a panal filter is supose to be better and more efficient from what i've heard

original 1.2 8v in the corsa had 45bhp...it was the same engine as the nova 1.2i had fitted to it. The 1.2 16v is 100% different, completly different design, its an EcoTec 1200cc 16v TwinCam MPi unit, that puts out 65bhp in corsa b form or 75bhp in corsa c form thanks to an improved ECU from vauxhall. The 1.4 16v is 89bhp in both corsa b and c forms, but has room for tuning more then the 1.2 does, and there is not too much difference insurance wise between a 1.2 sxi and a SRi, the sxi is group 3-4 and the sri is group 5-6.

And induction kits do work, i had a custom made backbox, induction kit and standard plugs in my ecotec 12v (not same but similar), and that gained 6bhp on the rolling road over standard, and torque was increased too.

Drill the airbox and fit a K&N element. Induction roar is the same as my old piperX induction Kit. Only £45 for element and £0 for drilled box.

i would get the 1.4 if i was getting one as the 1.2 sxi uses to much fuel for what it does! the DTi is a good alround car tho

I'd get a petrol over deisel all the time, but thats my opinion, i've driven the 1.7 dti Sxi lots and its ok, but i personally prefer petrols, i dont think its worth getting the 1.4 because the amount extra it costs you're not getting your moneys worth.

For the price I would get the 1.2 SXi or even better the 1.7DTi SXi. Ive driven the SXi and the SRi and whilst u can get things like climate controll on the SRi it's really not worth the extra. Out of the three, having driven them all I would take the 1.7DTi SXi everytime!
