Indeed Ben. With a twist.

As standard, the hardtop is completely body colour. So when inside the car, from certain angles you can make out the coloured paint in gaps between headlining and mounting etc. so I'm having it painted black inside so your attention isn't drawn to it. Hardtop is Imola on the outside obvs tho

Still collecting parts, got PDC bracket for the control module but haven't bought the rest yet.

Number plates and M3 badge? £90

Very nice Hopefully this is going to look a minter, i think it will do.

As for the carpet, the hardest bit is by the centre, iirc under the dash where you remove the centre console there two metal poles and i found them really hard to remove when i stripped a car once so in the end just cut them just to get the carpet out It might just of been my car though, hopefully you'll find it easier. It's a massive and really akward carpet to work with though, i would say it's going to be a full days job

Are you getting the car back bare and fitting all the new bits yourself?

Good luck with that carpet, they are a nightmare to get out, let alone fit! Have they cut around the dash area? They're near impossible to get out of otherwise.

Indeed if its anything like the E46 the heater matrix needs to be removed to do it properly. Most people cut round the matrix!

Looks great Jambo

Graeme, not at Toms no, see earlier in the thread.

Respray is of everything bar the engine bay but not excluding slam panel wing tops and under bonnet etc..

Should be here not this weekend but next.

Tom- ill give you a hand. Steve will confirm I sand a mean front wing if needed

It's not as extravegant as it seems. I see it this wise, my car cost £3500, it is now worth £3500. After the respray it will likely fetch £400-4500 if I was lucky. So it's "adding" to the value of a car that has not depreciated in 18months. In 18months I lost £3500 on a Renault. So this time I'm spending the depreciation on making it too notch!

Will all be undersealed too, so nice and future proof.

P.s I am skint now

When I go to heaven, one of my activities will be to have a freshly painted E36 M3 Cab (Techno & Champagne) with nothing in/on it.

Then next to it will be every single part from a new engine and box, suspension, brakes, every nut bolt and badge.

Then I get to put it all together with shiny tools and my favourite music playing in the background and my favourite food and drink on demand.

Probably going to hell though so will no doubt have to lick sweat off Hitlers nutsack instead
