We had an auction at work on Tuesday for a load of coffee machines, display units and cups. I put in a couple of bids, some people ended up winning 2-6 machines One guy got 2 and didn't want one so I said I would have it.

Here lies my predicament!

The machine is considered one of the top of the range machines (£300 retail) and we get so many customer calls with issues, coffee not hot enough and other issues. No one in the office really knows how they work as we have never been shown! The machine I have is really simple, never gone wrong and probably not likely to. I paid £70 for it, brand new.

Machine I have now:

One I've just got:

My mate said he would have my other one, which has been trouble free. Just think I may regret changing to this knowing the issues people have!

My mum and dad have a simple Magimix one that works no problem, looks similar to yours tbh. My brother on the other hand has a Miele which cost thousands but is as complicated as the space shuttle and still kicks out the basically the same stuff.

I'd stick with the simple one.

Whats special about these compared to putting the coffee in a cup yourself and adding water? Or is it just lazyness?

Instant coffee isn't even close to fresh coffee, this is better than instant but not quite as good as fresh.

It takes more time and effort to use the machine than putting a spoon of coffee in a cup.

Instant coffee tastes nothing like coffee.

I still believe that Nespresso coffee is as good as any freshly ground coffee. It's the same thing sealed in a tiny pod. It may as well be still be a bean lol!

Lol. Nothing wrong with that.

I was admiring the worktops

Why not use your new big one now, then leave it with your parents if and when you move out, and keep your old one for you.

Marc, I have that exact coffee maker and the drink is never HOT, only tepid which I dont mind, but others do.

Looks good on the side, even if it puts out warm drinks. I got it as a gift, so doesnt really bother me.

Don't want to go in to work mode, but are you using the milk jug?

Customers complain that it isn't hot enough when using the milk part, we advised them to press the clean button first and blast some steam through before adding the milk.

Mine has been producing really hot coffee. I don't use the milk on the machine as I have a seperate frother.
