Are people in here saying its ok to overtake a police car, even if it means breaking the law in the process??And get away without being pulled over??

Speedos are never accurate.

I know that. But some over-read more than others.

So how do you know what is a true 70mph without a GPS device or the likes??

I use TOMTOM

I believe the standard test to prove you are a man is to overtake a police officer on the motorway.

Yeah. You are very unlikely to get pulled doing 80 on the motorway. I've been past coppers at 75-80 and had nothing. As long as it's good driving conditions etc.

im not anti police and i am anti dangerous driving and speeding, and 80mph on a motorway is neither dangerous, unnaceptable, and does not require being pulled over

Ive been behind traffic cars when doing 70mph (on the speedo) and they are sitting at the same speed.

About 90% of the public probably don't know that speedo's over-read.Up here, they wouldn't think twice about pulling you over if you were to sail past doing 80mph (on the speedo) when they are going considerably slower.

How do you know if you've never done it?

tbh, most Police down here do under 70mph anyway.

I wouldn't take the piss and do above 80mph on the speedo, like Steve.

Shows a lack of respect, imo.

When I was going to Carlisle once I was sat doing 90 and a police car went past me, didn't even have his blue lights on. Maybe late for his shift change.

Thinking about it I quite often see police cars speeding on the motorway without their blues on if I'm going to Carlisle

I hand over both parts of my liecense and £60 to the police this Monday for doing 80mph on the motorway.

Wasn't a copper that pulled me tho but those fuckin camera vans on the flyovers that caught me.

I guess we're less tolerant towards bullshit people like you spout tbh.

For the record, I too have overtaken a police officer. But to say you will get away with it every time because one police officer told you the unofficial speed limit is 80 makes you more retarded than I first believed.

also he went on to say how he has to deal with fatalaties, which i can fully appreciate how it gives him a low tolerance to dangerous driving, must be horiffic dealing with deaths and telling families etc.

But i wasnt sure why he was telling me this instance as there was no dangerous driving involved.

The coppers down your way just must be more tolerant, you won't get away with that up here.
