Are all Audi quattro's 4WD? I put a post up a while back about someone I know looking for a bigger/ quick car, he's decided on an Audi but wants to know what's the best spec to get (A4 or A6)

I was under the impression the name Quattro was given due the the AWD chassis.

Quattro is the Audi's 4WD system.

yes quattro is the 4wd system the A6 Lemans quattro is a good spec . Depends what you are after petrol or diesel m8. The a4 is a bmw series 3 sized car the a6 is a bnw 5 series sized car.

I just wanted to ask. Thanks for the replies. He's not fussed if it's petrol or diesel, hopefully has something sorted in the next few weeks.

The audi quattro was the first 4wd car they brought out .The rally car which beat the escorts ? Then they just added quattro to denote that the car was 4wd to most of the range .
