Since when??

F28's are cable operated.

Can buy kits to make them hydraulic, but they are about 350quid.

o rly, hmm my c is hydraulic and i was told it was a faf using an F20 as id have to convert the car to cable or box to hydraulic so best stickin to the F28

I would have gone to more than 80 anyway, never mind needing bits.

Please also note this needs to be bottom dollar so no expensive options and certainly not throttle bodies or anything silly.

What you got in mind as in price/power?

theres serveral options,

ive been looking into fitting a corsa vxr engine into one - i reckon i could wire it up etc, but thats more costly.. but few mods + mapped will see 240bhp

or even a newer z18xer 140bhp, but there abit more canbus - would need more research to weather i could get it to run correctly

otherwise z18xe coversion - maybe a bolt on turbo or charger like will's. Turbo wise i can tell you exactly what you need

then you could go cheaper, but unkown - z22se

uses a f23 gearbox so just use same bits the z20let boys use on there conversion. wiring would be quite simple, few hours with tis could write you a diagram

v6... custom mounts etc prob not ideal

or maybe a z20net (fitted to the vectra) is basicaly a z22se (alloy block and head) but 2.0 and turbo not to be confused with a z20let totaly differnent. OR you could fit a z22se and bolt on the z20net turbo set up...

could even import a supercharger kit that they use in the chevrolet standard 2.4 i believe which bolts onto the 2.2se

F28 is definitely Cable Operated - 6 Speed 'Box sourced from C20LET Cavalier & Calibras, which never had Hydraulic clutches...

I'm up for Z22SE if it can be done cheap enough.

Concerned about shafts/hubs etc. though, no money for that unless you know of any bodges.

the 2nd link says in it that the engine is making a noise, id be veryyy confident to say it would just
be the timing chain + tensioner, seem to be quite common on the 2.2, sort that and stick it in the C

conversion parts you can get from vx as they fitted a f23 into the 1.7 combo.... but you need to make up a 10mm spacer, thats the gearbox mounts done. if you fit the front one yourself or not bother, drivers side you can use the astra mount (bolts straight on) and again a block of steel spacer

i beleive you can use the astra shafts and just get hubs machined (i can get exact info if required)

swap the immbo ring and transponder chips over, then sort the wiring loom over and it will run.
