The best passer of a ball i have had the pleasure to watch, simply amazing, him and beckham spraying balls about in the same team was brilliant

I'm glad he has retired, it is the right time for him

All those comments above show exactly what was thought of him, by far the best central midfielder england had, yet they decided to play him left wing and he rightly retired.

We got more time out of him for that and england suffered. Lampard should always have been the player on the bench behind scholes

Absolute legend, it's been great to see him live so many times

No one can argue with his honours and contribution to United over the years. Definately the correct time to retire, just a shame him and van Der Sar couldn't collect a final CL medal!
